Difference between UPS inverter and Inverter ?

What is the difference between UPS inverter and Inverter

Both of functionally same but there are minor difference in their application,  which are as follows

1) Purpose

UPS: are used for electronics  office and house appliances such as computer, servers, workstations, Medical Equipment which perform critical task and cannot tolerate delays in power supply

Inverter: are used for electronics house appliances such as Light, fan, TV, Fridge, washing machine etc, which can tolerable the delays.

2) Definition:

UPS: UPS means Uninterruptible Power Supply
Inverter: Inverter is a device which converts DC electricity to AC

3) Change over time:

UPS: 3 to 6 Milliseconds
Inverter: More than 100 milliseconds

4) Principle
UPS: UPS is a device that contains stored energy in order to inverter as the main component, regulated stable frequency output power protection equipment. Mainly by the rectifier, batteries, power inverters and static switch of several components
Inverter: An Inverter is an Electrical circuit capable of turning DC power into AC power , while at the same time regulating the voltage, current and frequency of the signal, the transistors are key components of power inverters, which convert direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC) power

5) Backup time
UPS: Power back up short duration around 30 Minutes
Inverter: Back up long duration last upto 8 hours also

6) Types:

UPS: online UPS and off line UPS

Inverter: Sine wave and square wave

7) Voltage fluctuation:
UPS: Voltage fluctuation minor, which can better protection against the voltage fluctuation
Inverter: Voltage fluctuation is wide range, which can not give protection against voltage fluctuation
8) Major parts
UPS: Rectifier/charger, Inverter ,controller

Inverter: Inverter and controller

9) Pricing
 UPS: More expansive than inverter
Inverter: less expansive

10) Type of Battery

UPS:  Used sealed maintenance free ( SMF ) battery

Inverter: Used flat plate or tubular battery (need regular maintenance)

11) Energy consumption:
UPS: More energy consumption due to constant charging battery Charging
Inverter: Less energy consumption

Any doubt, query please comment below, I will revert at the earliest time

M/s PMM Smart Future solution – Ranipet – Supplied 10KW solar power system including on grid and off grid in Ranipet District at different locations Navalpur, Ranipet, Walajapet, Arcot, Sipcot, Ammoor, Perumbulipakkam, Panapakkam etc,

Conclusion:

UPS is essential for the industrial and domestic application where the continuous power required

Inverter is essential for where the frequent power cut and long time power cut, suggest for solar inverter which is the best investment also

Note: please post your queries
