1) Selection of Panels is the major mistakes people are doing, the following factor to be consider while selection of solar panels

a) Site weather or Climate condition Cloudy, foggy, rain or snow: The site weather cloudy or more rainy the poly crystalline efficiency of solar power production will reduce around 80% poly crystalline panel it will not perform very well, but we can select Mono crystalline or Mono PERC panel which will produce higher power compare to poly crystalline.

b) Determine solar panel efficiency and compare to industry Polly crystalline of around 16% and Mono crystalline around 20

c) Check solar panel manufacturer warranties against industry average of 10-25 years

d) Compare cost to relative efficiency – efficiency is important, but the most efficient panels aren’t always the best value

e) Manufacturer try to find out about the solar panel manufacturer’s reputation in the search engines. How long has it been in the field of photo volts, see the design of the website and aspects dealing with the warranty.

It is wise to see the forum discussions about the brand of the manufacturer, are they positive or negative?

f) Power tolerance:

This is the amount of power output from your solar panel. For example a 165W module with a tolerance of +/- 5% could actually produce 156.75W up to 173.25W

g) Temperature coefficient:

The temperature coefficient tells you the electrical behavior of your solar panel from a standard operating temperature of 25 °. The units of this coefficient is expressed in “% by ° C”, so the lower the coefficient, the better the solar panel is. On the other hand, the higher the number, the less the photovoltaic module will produce in case of strong heat or at the beginning of the afternoon.

A high temperature coefficient is a sign of a lower quality solar panel. A reasonable number is around 0.5%, also the best solar panels down to 0.3% while 0.7% indicates a poor coefficient in terms of performance and thus a photovoltaic equipment not very reliable.

h) The frame of the solar panel:

The 40mm thickness frame will be a good, Visually a quality solar panel frame should result in an exemplary finish. Angled contacts must be joined and anodized to ensure corrosion protection. Finally the edges must not be sharp and the design must be refined for aesthetic integration on a roof.

i) The protective film:

At the back of the module is the protective film, check that there are no air bubbles and that the film is perfectly flat, the opposite would be an indicator of negative quality.
